Why is MPPT in powder form – rather than a conventional bandage type dressing?

MPPT powder consists of tiny micropore particles that can access all the crevices and areas that would not be touched by a traditional bandage type dressing. Therefore, MPPT can work on the entire wound surface, including undermined areas, tunnelling, sinuses and similar.

Therefore, to make the most of MPPT, it is advised to cover well the entire wound surface, i.e. the wound bed itself AND any undermining, sinuses, tunnels and similar not leaving any spots uncovered. Also, the entirety of the wound edges and approximately 0.5 cm of the unbroken skin surrounding the wound opening should be well covered with MPPT.
