Antibiotics reduce the amount of carbon that can be stored in soil. This directly increases CO2 in the atmosphere and contributes to climate change.
One course of antibiotic release the same amount of carbon as a car driving around Earth 1.47 times.

Can I use antiseptics when preparing the wound?

The use of antiseptics is discouraged when preparing the wound for MPPT application.

We strongly advise against the use of antiseptics that are cytotoxic to human cells and that accumulate in the tissue, e.g. Chlorhexidine. About Chlorhexidine

If for a specific reason it is necessary to use an antiseptic prior to MPPT, a better option would be 70% Isopropyl alcohol or 70% normal alcohol.

Hydrogen peroxide is also claimed to be an antiseptic. There remains some doubt about whether it is an antiseptic or only a chemical debrider. However, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) can be used on the wound prior to MPPT if deemed necessary. Please read.

After the use of any antiseptic, cleanse with water before the application of MPPT.
